What is Web Analytics?

Web analytics collect, report and analyze website data. Web analyses The main focus is on identifying measures on the basis of your organizational and user objectives and using website data to determine whether these objectives are successful or not, and to drive strategy and improve user experience. (Anon., 2020)

Five key Web Analytics are as Follow:-

1.) Overall Traffic: We consider the amount of trips you make to your website over a given time frame while we talk about Internet traffic. This number is important as it tells you whether your website receives the attention that it deserves.

2.) Bounce Rate: We call it a "bounce" by someone visiting your website and leaving without viewing a second page. Your bounce rate is the percentage of visits you are measured against your total traffic.

3.) Traffic Sources: In the majority of cases visitors to your website will find links instead of typing in your URL for the first time. The pages that link to your site are your sources of information and usually can be divided into four categories:

1. Search engines

2. Link from other websites

3. Visits from email.

4. Link from social media

4.) Desktop vs. Mobile Visits: It could not be surprising that many web users have now adopted mobile traffic fully. It has already overtaken daily desktop traffic some time ago, so a good mobile app for your website is important.

5.) New & Returning Visitors: Ideally, you would like to see more and more people return to your website. We 're calling them 'return visitors,' but you can also consider them as your core audience.

Conclusion: Many people are running their sites without taking their metrics into account. That might work, but if you don't use it, you can have so much great analytical tools. You will tell yourself whether your plan is working (or if you have to do something new), for example by keeping an eye on your traffic alone. (HUGHES, 2019)
